Go for a hike in Morbihan! Are you looking for a hike around Auray? We suggest a 3.8 km walk in Pont-Brech lasting about 1 hour.

On the programme of your walk, you can admire the Church of Saint-André, the chapel of Saint-Jacques, the Treuroux Mill which was once used to grind cereals for cattle, now a leisure site open only in season, the Saint-Dégan Ecomuseum for a journey into the Auray region of yesteryear with thatched cottages, longères and their outbuildings.
Located above the river Loch, the Pont Brech is the link between the communes of Brec'h, Plumergat and Sainte-Anne d'Auray.
This path ensures the enhancement and continuity of the historic route to Santiago de Compostela. The presence of the mill, the wash house, the chapel of Saint-Jacques and its fountain can testify to this.
Formerly made of stone, the Brech Bridge has been restored within the framework of the "Nature and Heritage" integration projects of the Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique community in order to enhance this natural space. They have built a wooden deck and a wooden footbridge in the extension of the bridge in order to access the other bank.
Here are the stages of the route:
Start: Take the François Audic lane near the telephone box. At the well, turn left into rue de la Maison du Four. At the calvary, turn left up the Chemin de la Croix Courte to Rue Georges Cadoudal. Turn right. After 10 m, follow Rue du Tanin. At the end, take the road on the left.
1- Turn to the right in the track of Pont Brec'h. Go down, turn to the right. Viewpoint on the pond of Tréauray where the mill of Pont Brec'h used to stand.
2- Go back on your steps, go up on the track up to the road.
3- Cross the street of Loc'h, take the track opposite, on the left of the chapel Saint-Jacques, on 600 m. Then follow the wooded track.
4- After the meadow below, go through the gap of the stone wall. You arrive at the river of Loc'h. Follow the path up to the fountain and go up to the road.
5- Turn to the right to go down to the mill of Treuroux.
6- Go back on your steps. On the right side of the copse, some steps allow to enter the wood. Follow the slope up to the track.
7- At the end of the track, take the road on the left which leads to the village of Brec'h after 1 km. You can go back to the village by the path along the river Loc'h.
8- Return to the village of Brec'h.
